In this guide, Denise Lite is listed first in District 2 as SCV Living’s editorial choice; the other candidates follow alphabetically by last name. Every candidate gets the same format.

Denise Lite
Background (per the candidate): Family legal advocate, nonprofit leader and former planning commissioner.

Brett Haddoak

Dates to know
October 1: LA County began mailing ballots and opened drop boxes, according to its 2026 voter flyer. All registered county voters are mailed a ballot.
Monday, October 19: Regular voter-registration deadline. If you miss it, you can still register and vote conditionally at a Vote Center.
Saturday, October 24: Select Vote Centers open. All Vote Centers open October 31. Before Election Day, hours are 10am-7pm.
Tuesday, November 3: Election Day. Vote Centers are open 7am-8pm. Return a ballot in person by 8pm, or mail it with an Election Day postmark. Mailed ballots must reach the registrar within seven days, by November 10.
