Good news for Sand Canyon: CAL FIRE says the Bike Fire is 100% contained as of Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started Sunday, Oct 11, near Cambria Estates Lane and Ravenhill Road, off Sand Canyon and Placerita Canyon roads. It moved fast, forcing evacuation orders across a dozen zones and a temporary shelter at College of the Canyons. Everyone was back home by Sunday night, and no homes were reported damaged.

Final size: 172 acres. Early reports put it as high as 475 before more accurate mapping brought the number down.

The cause is still under investigation. LA County Fire and Angeles National Forest crews handled the fight, with air support.
